Misc. October pictures and events

So, these are just some random pictures from this past month.
This is what Nicole decided to wear to CC one day.  I have no words

Our proportional outdoor solar system.  You are looking from the viewpoint of the sun.  That dot at the very end by the sunshine is Neptune

This was Nicole's face the morning we were learning about stars.  I told her that blue stars are the hottest...she couldn't believe it!  She would have guessed that they were the coldest!

Sweet, sweet boy.  I love him!

Cool action shots of Nate jumping in the pool.

Cowabunga Dude!

We went to a Star Gazers event at MOSI.  Nicole, Hannah and Alyssa are having fun together.

My studious one...taking notes.  She was drawing what she saw through the telescopes.

So, it's picture day, and I asked the girls to get Nate dressed for me.  This is what I got.  When I told them that he didn't match, they said, "Mom, yes he does, he's wearing stripes!".  Hmmmm....

Our CC class, learning about the staff and note names.

Whoops, this is upside down.  It's another model of the solar system, this time on paper.
Nicole and her friend Carly were trying to save the spiders of the world.  I don't think she believes these signs though.  I killed a spider right in front of her the next day!

They love each other!  They matched camo on purpose...isn't that sweet?

Fell asleep before I could tuck him in.

I recreated Hannah's bow from the party the week before....I think i did a pretty good job!

A friend gave Nicole a pair of cowboy boots that they outgrew...her favorite fashion accessory now.  Isn't she cute?

Viana's Birthday Party

One of Hannah's "best" friends, Viana, lives on the other side of the cul de sac.  We have enjoyed getting to know her and her family.  Hannah and Viana are just a few months apart, and she just turned 6 earlier this month.  Her birthday party included Nicole, Hannah, and her cousin at Sweet N Sassy, the cute little hair and nail place for little girls.

They got a different treatment than what we did for Nicole's birthday.  Each girl got a little make up and their hair done in a fancy way, and they also got a manicure.
Viana- ready for her manicure

Here is Hannah getting her special treatment
Letting her pretty little nails dry (she picked out yellow again!)

make up- for the first time

She got a bow in her hair!

pretty girl!

And Nicole.
Nicole's first time with make up too

She looks to grown up for me!

The girls got to play on the stage and dance around to music.  They weren't sure what to do at first, but they got the hang of it soon enough.
All the girls, rockin' their hair and nails!

Sweet friends

Superstar!

Happy Birthday Viana!

Jeremy's Birthday

Last Saturday was Jeremy's birthday.  We ended up going to Orlando for the afternoon.  On our way, Jeremy asked Nicole if she had ever seen one of those large swings that people ride.  Since she had not, we looked up a video on our phones and shared it with her.  Of course, the next thing we looked up was where the closest swing was (we knew there would be some in Orlando)

Next thing we knew, we were in Olde Town, a little shopping/entertainment district in Kissimmee.  And, 15 minutes later, Jeremy, Nicole and Nathan were getting geared up to go on this swing.

Getting geared up (I kept asking the attendant if Nathan was strapped in tight enough!)

This is the tallest swing in the world with a 300 foot drop.
He looks ready for action

They were lifted to the swing where they buckle the gear up and then they took a minute and a half ride up to the 300 foot drop off point. Once at that point, they were stuck there for a while (maybe 8-10 seconds...but it seemed like longer).  Nicole had to pull the release cord, but it was really hard for her to pull.
Can you see Nate's death grip on Jeremy's arm?

The kids had a super time, and I think it was a memorable birthday for Jeremy.  When I asked Nate how it was he said, "They make me wear dat pink ting and I no like dat!" (referring to his safety gear).  He also said it was very scary and he wasn't going to do it again.  Nicole really enjoyed it though.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh

Then, we took off for Bass Pro Shops.  It's always a fun store to look around, and we wanted to see some new camping gear.
I think it fits him.

Somehow, I think this is what Hannah will look like in 10 years when she's learning to drive!

My explorer girl!

Yep, we'll take one!
We had a yummy dinner at Orlando's Miller Ale House, and then spent the last part of our evening at Congo River Golf.  We got a deal that included BOGO putt putt and BOGO alligator feeding.  The kids all did a great job at putt putt, (but I got a hole in one on the first hole ;)

Feeding the gators, Nate dropped his pole, and the worker almost fell in trying to retrieve it!

They weren't big gators...

Happy Birthday to the best husband and daddy around!  We love you Jeremy.
