Overcast vs Overcooked

We were just driving home from softball practice. It is raining and the sky is completely gray. I was sitting in the passengers seat and Hannah was sitting in the back. I ask her “Hey Hannah, is it you or Dad who doesn’t like overcast days?”
She goes, “Me....Wait.... what?... Did you say overcooked steaks?!”
Mom started laughing and I just put my head down and was trying not to laugh too hard. I was like “No. Overcast days”
“Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh!” goes Hannah.
LOL.

A Fun Night Off

We had a fun at dinner tonight. This was one of the few nights that we all got to sit around the table together with time after dinner to play games. We would usually be at the ball field ;). (I am not complaining. I was just telling dad about how much I love our life at the ball field everyday. It’s amazing.)
It started when Nathan and Dad were joking around during dinner. Dad went to tap Nate on the head. But right as he went to, Nathan leaned away. So Dad’s hand tipped off him and his head hit the table. Nate was fine. Dad felt really bad since it was on accident. He asked if he was ok. Nathan just sat there facing forward and said yes. Dad goes “are you gonna cry?”. Nathan said “my eyes want to cry but it didn’t hurt that bad.”
“I’m sorry buddy. Come here, give me a hug”
Nathan gets up, takes a shaky breath, and gives dad a hug. While they were hugging.... the tears came. Nate started crying. He wasn’t hurt, and it didn’t hurt, yet he involuntary started crying.
(I want to reiterate again that Dad did this on accident, Nathan was not hurt, and Nathan wasn’t crying because it hurt. The crying just came)
Next, Hannah went back to get seconds of dinner. We were having chicken carbonara. Dad looks over at her plate and says “Hannah, all your peas are separated from the noodles.”
She looked down and answered, “oh yeah. Yeah they just naturally did that. It just happened”
“Uh huh, ok. Well you need to eat the peas”
“Awwww fine!”
We laughed about that for a while.
So we wanted to play a game after dinner. Nathan, Dad, and I all did a Spit (the card game) competition. It started off with me declaring what a good Spit player I am and how I always beat Nathan. Of course I lost to him in the first round 🙄. I gained my reputation back after beating Dad over and over. So Nate beat me, dad beat Nate, then I beat dad. After chaos, the boys cheating, and lots of laughing, Dad and Nathan just started throwing cards at each other.
So tonight was a fun. We need to get up early tomorrow to drive out to a double header. Good night!

While waiting out the lightning...

Hannah and I were playing our softball game yesterday. We were probably about half way through the game when, in between innings, the lightning alarm went off. There was no rain, the cloud's weren't that dark, and no one had seen or heard lighting or thunder. So it went off and people started throwing down their gloves and walking back to the dugout. We had to wait half and hour before we could play again. So our teams were not allowed to leave the dugout, but our two teams started finding ways to interact. We started throwing a softball across the field and played Tic Tack Toe on the it! After a while, dad and I turned on line dances! We turned up the boombox and both teams danced with each other!

We had a blast!

The game did end up getting canceled but it was fun anyways.

Bad Parking

After a softball game, Dad, Hannah, and I went to Culvers for dinner. After we ate we got come ice cream and were getting ready to walk out the door. This other couple was leaving too and we both motioned for each other to go. So there was awkward politeness happening as we all eventually walked out the double doors. As the three of us walked out to the truck, we saw this other truck parked in front of Dad's. It was parked completely sideways, like the driver had just swooped in not caring about parking space lines. So I stopped in front of this car and I yell (to be funny) "WHO PARKED HERE?". Then I hear from behind me "I did". I turned around to see that guy we passed when we were leaving. I thought "Oh my goodness I can't believe I said that" and I turned back and ran and hid behind our truck 😂😂!!! We were laughing hysterically the whole way home!

Homeruns!

Something super cool happened to Hannah and I on March 11th!

The two of us were at our softball game. It wasn't going very well. The first two innings were pretty terrible. Our team couldn't hit or field. They were really down.

So its the last inning and its the bottom of the line up. The girl who you would least expect to get hits started getting on base. Once the top came it was long bombs over the outfielders heads! We started scoring runs like crazy. I was batting 5th and Hannah was batting 6th. I got up to bat and hit a homerun over the outfielders heads! It was really cool. Then Hannah gets up and hits another homerun over the outfielders head! That was just incredible! Hannah and I just hit back to back homeruns!!!! The whole team was super pumped up not to mention Hannah and I! We still ended up loosing the game but it wasn't quite as terrible of a loss.

(Hannah and I with our homerun balls and crazy hair)

That was super fun! (By the way mom lost her voice for the next few days because of screaming so much. The day after she had to direct he Challenge A class. Perfect time to loose her voice, right?)

The Fly Killer

So, this happened a month or so ago and I just never got around to blogging it. But the quotes are exact. So here it is....

We had all just finished dinner. Dad had just gone on the couch to watch Baseball, Nathan and I were still sitting at the table for absolutely no reason, and Mom was in the kitchen. Hannah had just gone back to her room.

We were all just sitting there minding our own business until suddenly we hear from the back of the house, "I AM THE FLY KILLER !!!!!!" 😳. We all just stopped. Then Hannah comes stomping down the hallway saying "I have murdered two flies in the last hour! Murdered them! They are deceased!"

We all started laughing SO hard! For the past few months we still quote her. And we probably will for a while😂.

"I just like people throwing things at me"

Nathan just made us laugh really hard! I was sitting on the bar stool while Hannah, Nathan, and Mom were sitting on the couch. Mom was reading to them.

Hannah turned to me and said "Hey can you throw me an orange?" So I grabbed and orange and tossed it to her. Then Nathan looks at me and said "Can you throw me an orange too?" So I did.

After he caught it he said "Okay, take it back. I just like people throwing things at me". And he through it back. We all laughed really hard! It was super funny.

Leaving Hannah

Today Dad was driving Hannah and I home from softball practice. We stopped by Chicken Grill for dinner. Dad was driving, I was in the passenger seat, and Hannah was in the back. So we walked out of the restaurant and Dad and I got in the car. He turned on the truck and started driving away. We heard like a weird banging or tapping noise and dad looked at me and whispered "what is she doing back there" I turned around to see through the window Hannah running outside the truck! She was just kind of smiling. But neither Dad nor I knew that she wasn't in the truck! It wasn't on purpose😂. Sometimes Dad will start driving away without Nathan but he'd of course always stop and let him get in. Hannah thought that's what Dad was doing, but he had no idea!! He almost actually drove away without her. That was super funny!😂
